The Hahndorf Christkindlmarkt is an annual European-style Christmas market based in the German town of Hahndorf, that captures the essence of community, celebration, fun, laughter & family enjoying time together, such as is found in many cities in Europe over the Christmas period, but in a warm Aussie setting. The market is organised and run by C3 Church Adelaide Hills, on their property, for the benefit of the Adelaide Hills Community and beyond.
How to get to Hahndorf Christkindlmarkt from Adelaide
Take the South Eastern Freeway to Hahndorf (M1).
Follow for approximately 15 minutes and take the Hahndorf/Woodside/Birdwood exit (B34) on the left.
At the exiting roundabout, take the second exit onto Mount Barker Road.
Follow straight for approximately 4 minutes as road continues into Main Street.
Arrive at Main Street, Hahndorf & follow it right through the town until you see our lights (you can’t miss them)
If you’re coming from elsewhere, simply plug “Cnr Main Road & Auricht Road Hahndorf” into your smartphone, google maps, internet search & you’ll find us!
Public Transport
Adelaide Metro Bus Route 864 from Currie/Grenfell St to Mt Barker includes stop 56 in Hahndorf – right in front our property. The buses run almost every hour, and even run on weekends! This is a GREAT option for travelling to Hahndorf, as parking will be limited. Timetables can be accessed on Adelaide Metro’s website.
Where do I park?
If you do choose to drive, there is only Street Parking available so please allow time and prepare to walk. Unfortunately there is no disabled parking allocation on the streets of Hahndorf. There will be a road closures in place (Auricht Road) which will be open to local traffic only & may cause traffic delays. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes.

Hahndorf Christkindlmarkt is FREE!
Pets
We know the ‘traditional’ german christkindlmarkts allow dogs to roam their markets, however for the safety and comfort of all patrons, our event is Pet Free. (Due to the size of the location & crowds).
Accessibility
Our event parking is street parking only so unfortunately there are no allocated disabled parking specifically for the event. Our outdoor area is bitumen, allowing for easy access for wheelchairs, walkers, prams etc. however please be mindful at peak times of the event, the crowd can get quite congested.
Accessible toilet facilities are available please speak to a volunteer regarding access to these.
